Unit Background

Balzar is a rage-filled monster, who hates himself as much as anyone. Once a sniveling pushover, he has willed his summoning stone to transform him into a vessel fit for the anger that consumes him, and that the stone has done with aplomb. Balzar is driven by his resentment for the life that preceded his discovery of the stone, and all who bore witness to his humiliation must suffer and die. Even his own people. Perhaps especially his own people.
Balzar is a terrifying foe, driven by no ideology, with no reward that could give him pause. Itharia’s hope, if the Obsidian Dwarves cannot be stopped, is to that like all fires, Balzar burns too brightly and cannot maintain his drive.

Card Strategy

Balzar is the centerpiece of the deck, and his boosts and life will largely determine the course of action. Balzar should be slowly but surely moved into enemy summoner territory as this deck's biggest weapon is the threat he represents to the enemy summoner. The Epic Event, Volcanic Blast, makes it extremely difficult to defend against an intelligent advance to kill the opposing summoner. Due to Balzar's crucial role in the deck, he should generally be played cautiously, with Ember Guards used to protect him.
